  • What happens during a daycare evaluation?
When your dog is being evaluated for doggy daycare, we take many steps to ensure the safety of all guests that trust us with our daycare services. Dogs are social animals by nature, but some may not acclimate well to a larger group setting. Our evaluations will allow our trained staff to introduce and evaluate if your dog is appropriate for group play. Our staff will take it slow with all dogs, most evaluations lasting several hours. We introduce our calmest pre-approved daycare guests to the new dog one at a time, as not to overwhelm the new dog, and allow them to greet our pack slowly and safely. At pickup we will discuss your dogs results and how to proceed. This ensures the safety of all of our pet guests and staff. We encourage you to bring your dog in right at open for your evaluation day so that they can be the first in and be able to acclimate to the facility before being introduced to other guests.
  • Is doggy daycare necessary for dogs?
There are many reasons why puppies and adult dogs should be sent to a daycare. Dogs are social creatures but when puppies and adults are not socialized they often gain unwanted behaviors such as becoming skittish, nervous, and sometimes reactive/aggressive. It is imperative for you to socialize and give your dog structure. So that leaves you with two choices, socialize them in unscreened dog parks/dog friendly areas, or take them to doggy daycare where we provide a structured, convenient, and safe place for your dog to learn social skills and exercise! Plenty of mental stimulation and physical activity: Not only will daycare tire your pup out, but it can also reduce unwanted behaviors like chewing on furniture, shoes, or even constant barking. A safe outlet to expend excess energy: Your dog will be able to participate in group play for the entirety of the day. We do not crate guests for forced "naps" as it is not necessary for most dogs. Participants play, socialize, and rest in a cage-free environment all day long. Reduce separation anxiety: By giving your pup time away from you in a secure, safe, and fun environment, dog daycare gives your pup great practice for alone time. Our staff will give your dog the attention and care they need to help make their stay as Fear Free as possible. Socialize with similar sized dogs: Dogs are social animals, and they benefit from spending time with other dogs! Each dog is evaluated to ensure appropriate play. At ZOOMIES we do everything in our power to maintain a safe and healthy environment. Each dog is separated into the appropriate size, we do not cross large breeds and small breeds. Keep in mind, however, that if your dog is reactive (common among dogs who were not socialized at a young age), dog daycare may not be in the your dogs best interest.
  • What do the dogs do all day?
They play! They can enjoy our large outside play areas and our climate-controlled inside areas, which are carefully supervised by staff. Our trained staff members are certified in pet first aid and CPR. The majority of the day consists of getting the ZOOMIES, making friends, and getting belly rubs! Overnight boarding guests also get to enjoy daycare for no additional charge.
  • What vaccinations do you require?
What types of vaccines do you require for pets? We require prior to their visit that all pets have written proof from a licensed veterinarian of the following: Rabies: Every 3 years (first vaccination effective for 1 year) Bordetella (Canine Cough): Every 6 months / 1 year (depending on vet & vaccine) *Must be administered at least 7 days prior to check in* Distemper (DHP/DAP/DHPP): Every year / 3 years (depending on vet & vaccine) We recommend frequent daycare and lodging dogs receive an annual Canine Influenza (CIV), which protects against both the identified strains (H3N8 and H3N2) of CIV, also known as Dog Flu. However, it is not required. *We do not accept home vaccinations, handwritten vaccinations, sticker books, pet passports, or breeder vaccinations.
  • Does my dog need to be fixed?
All dogs over 12 months must be fixed to participate in daycare. This is for the safety of all dogs in our care which is our #1 priority at all times. If a dog under a year old is having behavioral issues we do have the right to pull them out of daycare. Guests boarding overnight with us may be unfixed as they will have a individual play yard to themselves.

  • Will my dog be different after they come home?
After the excitement and exhaustion of playing and socializing all week, it is important to take the correct steps in making your dog adapt back to a normal schedule. While staying at Zoomies, your dog received unlimited water both in the daycare and in their accommodation overnight. However, Still likely they might seem thirsty upon returning home. This is a common reaction to the excitement of being back at home with their family. Please withhold water from them for at least the first hour that they are home, once you see they have calmed down, you can then allow them access to their water bowl. Drinking too much water too quickly may lead to gastrointestinal discomfort, vomiting or bloat. We recommend waiting at least three hours from the time you arrive home to offer their next feeding. Excitement and stress from changing schedules again may also cause a change in urination or bowel movements outside their normal schedule. Give your pet some extra personal attention. While your pet stayed at Zoomies Pet Hotel, whether it is in the doggie daycare with other dogs, or with our staff members during their private playtime, they played hard. Even if your dog did not run all day, just being awake for longer hours than they are used to and thus may lead to your dog being more tired than usual when returning home. This should not impede their ability to eat or drink normally, and their laziness should go away within 2 to 3 days from returning home. While in Doggie Daycare most dogs love to play vigorously and wrestle with each other all day. During this play, it is NOT uncommon for some dogs to leave with minor cuts or scrapes. They love this type of play and we have trained first aid and CPR certified supervisors always monitoring the group. We absolutely do not allow aggressive dogs at Zoomies Pet Hotel but dogs do have teeth and nails and it just so happens dogs love to play with their paws and mouths. Although rare, occasionally some rough play may result in more moderate injuries. No amount of supervision or personalized care from our staff can be 100% certain to prevent a dog from being injured while playing.
  • What time can I check in and check out?
Our check-in and check-out time is noon. Your first night will apply on the day of check-in. Pets arriving before noon check-in are welcome with no extra fees, but your pet may have to wait in another accommodation until their room is ready. Picking up your pet after noon checkout time will result in a half-day of daycare cost added to the total stay.
  • Is there staff at the facility 24 hours a day?
Our staff is on site from about 6:30-7:00 AM to about 7:00-7:30 PM every day. This time is when the dogs sleep and we insure that we have secured the facility, additionally we have cameras and the proper fire system to maintain safety and look out for emergencies. To maintain a stress free environment, we do not have staff exploring the facility overnight.
  • My dog is not good with other dogs (or not fixed), can you still board them?
Yes, anti-social, and non fixed dogs can still come visit us. They must still be 100% people friendly as we will put them on a personal playtime schedule. Please do not bring your dog if they are in heat or if they growl at people!
  • What types of vaccines do you require for pets?
• What should I bring? (food ,toys, blanket, etc.)
Food: To help keep tummies happy and regular, be sure to bring their usual food and/or treats labeled with AM, Lunch, or PM and prepackaged per normal feeding amounts in individual zip-lock bags. Please do not bring Tupperware or large dog food bags as we do not have the storage to keep them. Exceptions are available for long-term lodging guests (10+ days). Note: If requested, we will provide our in-house premium food at no extra charge which is a digestive-friendly premium quality food. However, we do believe it's in your best interest to keep your pup on their usual food. Treats: Our guests receive small training treats throughout the day for no additional charge, however, if you would like your dog to enjoy a special treat from home, we require you to bag the treats with feeding instructions (example. “Give 1 daily before bed’) *No Rawhides/bones or any treats that have a risk of harming your pet when they are unsupervised. Collars/leads: Not necessary as we do not allow dogs to play with collars or leads for safety reasons. Just be sure to bring a lead for pickup and drop off! Sleeping items (Blankets/Beds): In order to maintain a sanitary and safe environment we ask you do not bring bedding. Our accommodations come with a premium Kuranda bed or a comfort pad depending on the accommodation. The dogs love the beds and we ask you do not bring anything fabric into our facility. (DO NOT pressure our staff into taking back beds and blankets) Toys: You are welcome to bring up to 3 toys but for safety reasons they must be made out of rubber or plastic (Kong Toys, rubber balls, etc) Rope toys and rawhides are strongly discouraged. Please make sure all belongings are in an enclosed bag. • How much playtime & sleep time will my dog get?
We like to give our guests ample playtime and rest time. Dogs sleep anywhere from 12-14 hours a day and sometimes more depending on the age and breed so we insure that we do not overstimulate dogs during their stay with us. The only time we want your dog in a enclosure is when they are sleeping or eating! Your Dogs Schedule: -For Dogs in open daycare 7:00AM: Morning elimination break before morning room service begins! 8:00AM: Breakfast is served! (for those who eat in the morning) 9:00AM: Group playtime until dinner 3:00PM: After hours of group playtime we send our guests in to decompress! 4:30PM: Dinner service begins for all of our guests who eat in the afternoon! 6:30PM: One last elimination break and let out any leftover energy before being tucked in! 7:00PM: Bedtime begins at 7PM with calming white noise to prevent barking and ensure all of our guests get the 12 hours of sleep they need after a full day of action. Days may be formatted differently throughout the week due to weather or staffing, however we do guarantee the same amount of rest and play hours are honored.
  • If my dog isn't in daycare, will they still get enough activity?
For the owners who selected personal playtimes with staff over all day daycare, your dog will have 3 potty breaks (Morning, Lunch, Evening). Additionally, they will receive three playtimes times with staff that will be filled with activity and 1 on 1 attention.
